Bea's acting career started in the year 2011, as a stand-up comedian, after appearing in small parts in Irish and British TV series starting in the year 2009. She began appearing frequently on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms in 2012. After winning an award in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to appear regularly on various panel shows where she is now a regular. Between 2016 and 2017 she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats team in addition to being a performer in the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. The actress is the child of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her sister, was also born. In 2012 she won the So You Believe You're Funny Award for the second time. The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian for horses who died by suicide when she was just three years old. However, she did not learn the cause of death until thirteen years later. The stage name Bea was in tribute to her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 about her experiences dealing with suicide. Bea was raised alongside her sister Sinead with Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer as well as a former professional racer. Their family was fascinated by racing and horses. Bea was a child an instructor in the Irish National Stud. From the age of a child, Bea knew that she was not interested in a racing career. Instead, she was drawn to the performance arts.
