Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21, 1983. She is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. After the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington Ohio in order to settle with her family in Los Angeles. Although she was struggling financially, her 2001 debut was in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance of Murder in Greenwich of a 15-year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to take home the award. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. The show featured her as the principal character for two seasons and won the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to her role as Shannon in Lost and the final episode. The actress was featured in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith a groupie and a muse to the stars, who catches the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films of her father when he was an adolescent. With her brother, she appeared as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). She also was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for a Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both films received acclaim from critics. Her fame grew when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercials she appeared in during 2006. She was recognized as the best supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mom in Crazy Heart. In the following years, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Apart from her character as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she was also seen as a character in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). The latest roles included her character as the primary protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021 with her drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For the film, she won an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
